There are some cool themes here and it's inspired me to make my own. I don't know where to begin or what tools I will need. Anyone have any helpful tips/pointers/advice?

If you want to learn how things work - you can simply mess around with the theme.rc file - it usually contains everything. Once you make a change - recycle litestep to see the change.

Try one of my later themes: I have broken up theme.rc file into many files - each containing its own piece (taskbar.rc, popup.rc, etc)

You'll find Notepad++ useful in opening the files. Good luck!

Thanks.

Regarding images, are there any standard resolutions/size they should be for themes?

VerdisQUO that's generally up to you

With the code you can usually set it so the bar or boxes you have in litestep, to start at the far most right or far most left of the screen and just expand automatically to fit the entire screen. Or always start in a place that would correspond to a users desktop so it's visible. I think part of a theme being OS2 means they have to be any resolution compatible.

I suggest checking out http://shellfront.org/litestep-tutorials.php
